We have several ongoing volunteer opportunities available at Co-op Radio in a number of departments. Click on the department for which you are most interested in volunteering.

Vancouver Co-op Radio has 95 Radio Shows, which means there are 95 Radio Show Coordinator's.
The Coordinator's Committee is the organizing committee that manages the Radio Show Collectives. With representation from Programmers, Coordinator's, Listeners and Community Members, The Coordinator's Committee ensures that Programmer's voices are heard, their needs are being met, and that they have the tools they need to uphold quality radio standards.
FOCUS: By focusing on each Broadcast Hour of the week, the Coordinator’s Committee will oversee Show Collectives to ensure 24 hour quality radio programming.
JOIN AS A COMMITTEE MEMBER:
(volunteer 2 – 5 hours per month)
TASKS
- Outreach & Needs Assessment to all Radio Show Collectives.
- Volunteers
- Training (Operator Training, Phone, RadioDJ, etc.
- Control Room & Studio Equipment
- Communications, etc.
- Systems & Policies Audit
- Transitions, Logsheets, Station IDs, Dead Air etc.
- Develop & Manage Quality Radio Programming Standards
- Assist with onboarding new programmers

FOCUS: Liaising with Committees on content; designing online and classroom
workshops that engage special needs and learning styles of
programmers; recruiting & coordinating volunteer trainers.
The Outreach & Training Committee Board Rep works with the Outreach Coordinator on
managing Outreach & Training at the station, including:
Recruiting and Onboarding Committee Volunteers, Trainers, and Project Specific Participants
Planning, Budgeting, and Needs Assessment for the Department
Makes themselves available to coach, problem solve, and get their hands dirty.
The Outreach & Training Committee Board Rep presents a written report, budget updates, and
department needs assessment at each Board Meeting.

FOCUS: Continuity of listener experience, the sound of the station, creative
production of Station IDs, Show Promo’s and PSAs and Pre-Recorded
Content that is played throughout the programming week.
ROLES: 5 x PRODUCTION Committee Members
Between 2 – 5 hours per month
TASKS
A. Review of existing Pre-Recorded Content
B. Systems & Policies Audit
C. Recruitment & Training of Production Volunteers
D. Liaise with other Committees on Pre-Recorded Needs

The Fundraising & Promotions department are in need of volunteers for the following:
Phone Callers
Are you good on the phone? Then we need you! We need a team to:
- Make and take phone calls during the next member drive
- Make phone calls to recently expired members to remind them to renew;
- Make thank you calls to recent donors.
Event Planners
Do you love planning events? Then we need your help! We have the following upcoming events that we'll need help planning and representing Co-op Radio at the events:
- Culture Days on September 28th
- Events during the Fall Member Drive
- Membership Appreciation Event (sometime in November)
- Vancouver Co-op Radio's 45th birthday (in April 2020).
Fundraising Committee Members
Having experience working on a committee is great for your resume. If you are interested in fundraising or have experience and would like to join the committee, then please reach out!

Volunteering in the Technical Department will help you build your technical skills, meet new people, apply your ideas to real situations and share skills with other volunteers.
Positions range from building audio cables to helping with live in studio sound setups to advising on a Technical Committee.
